Three options for how to approach your speech:
1. Bring an object or objects
Talk about why the object is important to you,
 Where you got it
What it is,what it means to you
A story about you that relates to it,
Possibly-- how it will continue to relate to you in the future .
2. Talk about a turning point in you life
An injury where you had to change career choices,
a house fire that caused you to realize something,
the birth of a child, the loss of a loved one, etc.
3. Compare yourself to an object
My life is like a three ring circus: one ring my family, one my career, and one my education.
I like to compare myself to a VCR: I like to look at my past, wish I could pause moments in my future, and am anxious to fast forward to my future.
____________________________
These were used in the Past but not this summer:
Tell us about yourself in terms of a quote or song
My grandfather used to say, "Character is based on who you are when no one is looking. " I will tell you about my grandfather and about how I have used this quote throughout my life.
Use a collage to share your experiences
These items on this collage represent 3 major parts of my life: my friends, my family, and my achievements.
Remember: Help us see word pictures!
This speech should share 1 to 2 stories about you and not your whole life story. DO NOT TELL US things like, I was born in 1990 and I graduated in 2000 and my mom's name is Beck Jones. Do tell us stories
